This was my first overnight backpacking trip, and I went with a friend of mine. I had gone camping in Boy Scouts as a kid, but we always taken a bus, and never backpacked. It was a great experience, and launched my interest in backpacking, rather than merely hiking.
We didn't cover that many miles, just enjoyed a leisurely walk south along the trail until we reached the Lake Delancy campground. After relaxing for a while and having dinner, we decided to head back north for a few miles to camp, and have some peace and quiet, as well as avoid paying to stay at Delancy.
